Christmas 2013

We had a wonderful Christmas season.  We jammed a ton of activities into just a couple of weeks, but we definitely maximized our time.
We got Disneyland passes so we went at least 1-2 times a week.

 Being naughty with the Chamberlin's.

We went to the tree light at Fashion Island with the Chamberlins and Mclane's.

Taylor and I went to the Ritz Carlton tree lighting.

Being crazy with my brothers at Disneyland.

We had a couples ugly Christmas sweater party.  We danced, ate, and exchange white elephant gifts.

Julie and I chaperoned the Irvine dance.

We snuggled and watched Christmas movies.

We made lots and lots of caramels.  I made 4 cookie sheets of caramels to hand out to friends, ward members, and co-workers.  Taylor was a huge help!  Don't know what I would have done without him.

 How we packaged the caramels.

Our official last night at Disneyland with Chamberlin's and Mclane's.

I had a Christmas craft exchange with some girlfriends.  We all drew names and made a craft for that person.  It was such a fun night!

There was this dress at Anthro that I had to have... but wasn't wiling to pay the price.  So Kym came to the rescue and made the exact same dress, but with sleeves.  I wore the dress for Christmas Sunday.

Kristi came into town so we grabbed dinner at Bandera and then hit the Balboa Boat Parade.

Had the annual Goodsell/Reese Christmas party.  Dad and Taylor showed up in the exact same shirt.

We spent Christmas up in Utah with Taylors family before they moved to Texas.  We got together with some of our dearest couple friends from our Provo days.  We all were in town for the holidays, so we had to stop at Kneaders for the french toast.

My favorite part of the vacation was skiing at Deer Valley.  If you know me, you know I'm completely obsessed with Deer Valley.  I become like a little girl and I am just so happy.  I love the groomed runs, and how you ski through gorgeous homes.  Dying to get back there...

Ended our trip with Florence Family pictures.
It was a wonderful Christmas and I am grateful we got to spend it up in the snow.

Thanksgiving 2013

For Thanksgiving this year everyone was at mom and dads.  We ran the Dana Point Turkey Trot, rode bikes along Newport boardwalk, played minute to win it games, went to the movies, Taylor and I hit up the Black Friday Lululemon sale, and ate too much food.  It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!

New York- Part 2

Day 5: Oct 14, 2013
This morning I woke up super early to check out Good Morning American in Times Square.  I picked up a quick Starbucks on my way down to keep me warm.  Im such a sucker for behind the scenes knowledge, so it was really cool to see how everything takes place.  You wouldn't know but they run back and forth between the outside studio and the inside studio.  Like once the cameras are off they are hauling it to the inside studio.  They are also super inactive with the audience if they aren't running back into the studio.  I found that very surprising.

Sean and Catherine were announcing their wedding date.

 Ohhh hey Robin!

The guy from What not to Wear was doing a segment and took a selfie with the crowd.  Can you spot me? I look exhausted. After Good Morning America, the theaters were just opening for cheap tickets, so I stopped by Annie to see if I could get a cheap ticket.... and low and behold they had a matinee for today, front row seating for $30.  Done!

After my early morning I came back to Marys place got ready, and we were on our way to the Chelsea Market.  I didn't get to do this last time, so I was really looking forward to this.  It was so cool to see all the shops in this old building.  This is definitely one of my top must dos in NYC.

 The Chelsea Highline.

To give you an idea of what the walkway looks like. They were just finishing it so it was in pristine condition.

Inside Annie.  It was really uplifting and up me in the Christmas mood.

That evening Mary and I went to a very nice restaurant called Roberts that over looks Columbus Circle.  It was definitely a moment in time.

Day 6: Oct 15, 2013
Today was another day I got up even earlier.  I think I arrived to the Once theater no later than 6am.  I was getting tickets for the evening show for Mary, Andrew, and I.  Once tickets are hard to get because it is such a popular show.  I stopped by the box office  yesterday asking how everything works, and they said you have to get to the theater really early and wait in line for the good/cheap tickets.  Well, you only live once.... so I decided I was going to go for it.  I was 3rd in line and grateful I got there early because a lot of people came as time went on.  Once again got front row tickets for $30!  Check!

After getting tickets to Once, I ran over to the Wicked theater to see if I could win lottery tickets for the matinee show.  I unfortunately didn't win so I came back to Marys, got ready for the day, and headed out to the museums.  Last year I didn't get to the Moma and The Met.  So those two museums were on the agenda.  This picture is on top of the Met.

Most insane view of the city.

After I saw all the art I could take, I went and met up with Mary and some of her girlfriends at Shake Shack.  After we ate our burgers on the steps of the Natural History Museum, I then walked around Central Park, and hit up the Plaza Hotel food court for their frozen yogurt.  Delicious!

Later that evening Andrew, Mary, and I went to Once.  It was a very different musical, but I enjoyed the rawness of the play.  The only thing I didn't like was the language.

After the show, we walked around Times Square, got some NYC pizza, and called it a night!

Day 7: Oct 16, 2013
Today was my last day in NYC.  I got up really early so that I could experience the Today Show.  I don't have a favorite show, but I enjoyed watching this show live just as much as watching Good Morning America.  They were very interactive with the audience, and these guys took tons of photos with the audience members.

After the Today Show, I walked down to Levain to get my last sugar fix.  Love everything in that bakery.

After Levain it was time for the Wicked lottery.  I put my name in again to see if I could win tickets to the matinee.  Well, on the last person they called, the person didn't step forward.  So, they needed to draw one more name and they called ME!! Mary and I were freaking out and couldn't believe it!  It was my lucky day! Every time I see this show, I cry and just fall more and more in love with the production.

After Wicked the last stop of my trip was Katz.  This is my dads favorite place, so I was dying to give it a try.  It was a great sandwich, and I'm glad we got to experience it.

Well, that concludes my NYC vacation.  As you can see the twinners were so sad to see me go... but it was time to go back to my lover !  Until next time... NYC!

The next day Taylors' cousin and her husband came into town, so we met them at Dads Frozen Banana for desserts and of course the hippo cookie!  As you can see I was so exhausted and jet-lagged.
